AERIS — Nature Alarm
Effective
In short: AERIS doesn't have accounts, servers, or ads. Your alarms stay on your phone.
The only information AERIS uses is your approximate location, sent to Apple's WeatherKit to pick a matching alarm sound — nothing is sent to us, because we don't run any servers to send it to.
If you choose automatic weather-matched sounds, AERIS asks for your location while the app is in use. That location is sent directly to Apple's WeatherKit service to look up the local forecast — it determines which nature sound (sunny, rainy, windy, stormy, or snowy) plays when your alarm rings.
Your location is never stored by AERIS beyond the moment of that lookup, never logged, and never sent anywhere other than Apple's WeatherKit. If you'd rather not share location at all, you can pick a fixed sound manually instead of automatic mode — the alarm still works exactly the same way.
Every alarm you create — its time, repeat days, sound choice, and any name you give it — is stored only in your device's local storage. None of it leaves your phone: there's no account to sign into, no cloud sync, and no copy kept anywhere we control.
Deleting the app deletes this data along with it.
AERIS writes basic diagnostic logs (for example, when an alarm is scheduled) using Apple's standard on-device logging system. These logs stay on your device, are managed and automatically rotated by iOS, and are never transmitted anywhere.
AERIS uses one third-party service: Apple WeatherKit, to fetch weather forecasts. Apple's own privacy practices govern what happens to the location sent for that lookup — see Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
AERIS has no analytics, no advertising, and no other third-party integrations of any kind.
AERIS isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included — there's simply nothing to collect in the first place beyond the on-device use described above.
If this policy ever changes, we'll update the effective date above. Since AERIS has no accounts or contact details on file, we won't be able to notify you directly — checking back here is the way to stay current.
