Set a wake-up time, and AERIS plays a nature sound that fades in gently instead of blasting at full volume. In automatic mode, it picks the sound to match the local weather — sunny, rainy, windy, stormy, or snowy — at the moment your alarm actually fires.
Alarms: required so iOS can ring your alarm reliably, even if AERIS isn't open.
Location (while using the app): only needed for automatic weather-matched sounds. If you'd rather not share it, pick a fixed sound manually instead — alarms still work exactly the same.
Check Settings → AERIS and make sure Alarms permission is still allowed. If you're using automatic mode, the weather sound reflects the forecast as of roughly an hour before the alarm fires — if the weather changed very suddenly right before, the sound may not have caught up.
Not yet — AERIS currently ships with a fixed set of nature sounds. This may change in a future update.
No. AERIS is free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
